REPEAT OFFENDER

 Hey Loves,

I hope you all had a fun and productive weekend. Mine was super awesome. Kenya hosted the president of America, Barack Obama for a three day visit. Am so proud to be Kenyan. We are still bursting with pride  and excitement. It is the first time for Kenya to host an American president and we are greatly honored.

On today's style post, I have two confessions to make. 1) I accidentally left behind the shoes that I had paired up with this outfit so I settled for this pretty tan brown pair that are casual but with a lady like vibe. 2) I have worn this top and this belt on the blog before and I cant promise not to wear them on the blog again. See here and here respectively.

This top  is one of my favorite pieces in my closet. I love its unique feminine shape, subtle color and the strong feminine and flirty vibe that it exudes. Then there's the see through embroidery detailing and the ruffled chiffon splicing...I mean, that is just too much cuteness in one piece. The belt  is very versatile and it works well with so many outfits. There's a way that it glams up even the demurest of outfits.  Most importantly, I find the outfit ideal because its unexpected but still really cohesive.

Ohhh and I think I have worn this double pearled neck piece on the blog before. See here and the earrings and bracelet on my previous style post. Am guilty as charged. I think am very notorious when it comes to repeat items. I get too attached to items that I love. We all have those items in your closet that you end up wearing over and over for one reason or another. Or don't we?

How To Shop For The Perfect Outerwear

So, anyone who knows me, know that I love coats. I would throw on a coat on just anything am wearing. Coats spice up an ensemble and give it that complete feel. They completely transform an outfit. I have quite a number of them and am still adding to my collection. Now that the cold weather has set in, I thought it best to give you some guidelines on what to look out for when shopping for a coat so that you can make a good investment. I have also compiled a couple of my looks on coats from my previous style posts.

1. Comfort: This is the number one rule. Comfort always comes first. Your coat should fit well. Ensure that there is room enough around your arms and shoulders to avoid feeling rigid and restricted when reaching out to greet someone or to stretch.

2. Your Body Shape: Opt for a style that flatters your body shape .Round silhouettes look good in lean straight cut style coats. They should avoid Double  breasts and thick / heavy fabrics like puffas as they make you look heavier. If you have a petite silhouette chose a slim fitting, streamlined coat. A belted will even work better as it will accentuate your tiny waistline.

3. Length: The length of your coat should suit your wardrobe. Mid Calf Length are more popular as they blend well with trousers and skirts.

4. Colors: Purchase a color that will blend well with most of the items in your wardrobe. Its also important that you consider the colors of the season. Make sure that your coats collection consists of both bright and neutral pieces.

5. Taste or Preference: Do you want a classic piece or a stand out piece? Do you want something simple or a piece that is bold? Do you want a winter coat or an all weather coat? Classic coats transit easily from the weekdays to weekends. All weather coats can be worn all year round as opposed to winter coats.

I know that I haven't blogged like forever. Last month was super hectic. But hey, here I am. Back again.
