NATURE TRAIL

Happy Thursday!

I have been away for a while, but now am back. And am more than great full to be here right now.I took an outdoor trip to the park some time last week just to have a little bit of time by myself to unwind,to reconnect with nature, busk in the sun and to enjoy the aesthetic beauty.

For my little trip, I went for this sleeveless scarf print dress, with deep plunging necklines both at the front and at the back. The prints on the dress blended perfectly with the environment and the clay brown colour on the dress complimented my skin colour. To top off my look, were these simple yet very pretty and comfortable leather sandals and this candy PVC tote that perfectly picked out the turquoise colour on my dress. By the way, this cute PVC tote is made of pure plastic, hence water resistant and is also very strong and durable. See how I styled it here as well. The carefully hand crafted African inspired stone beaded necklace that I improvised into a bracelet also blended well with the prints on my dress. Now for the pictures...

PS: I really enjoyed my me time. It was so refreshing! Just what I needed!

PASTELS, STRIPES & POLKA

Hey You, Happy Friday!

There are those days when you wake up not wanting to think much about what you're going to wear, and you just want to jump into something simple and move on to tackle the day. This was one such day. I went for this pair of silver grey fitting chino pants, paired it up with a pin striped fitting top and threw on a rose pink one buttoned coat. I also had a few business dealings to handle and so I wanted to appear a little bit 'business - like'. And No No, I wasn't gonna put on a pair of heels as I was busy as hell and was running late. I needed to be in a position to move in speed. So I wore my pair of black flats. I find them a little bit cliche and I stand guilty as charged. This is an offence that I commit too many times. But hey, desperate times call for desperate measures.

Am also very pleased to announced that moving forward, my shoots will be based outdoors. So you got something exciting to look forward to. As we venture into the weekend, check out one of my go-to-outfits.

I COLOURED MY LITTLE WHITE DRESS

Hey You, Happy Heroes Day!

At times its great to be a girl. And just like an LBD, a Little White Dress is a must have in every girl's closet. I paired mine with a hot pink blazer and strappy heels. The coloured detailing on the burst of the dress and the cobalt blue turned up sleeves made for a pretty colourful affair. The strapped white dress is also circular and free. I find this pretty girlish and sweet.

PASTEL PARTY

Hey Buds,

It's the weekend...a three day weekend for that matter. Just the thought of it, makes me pretty happy. And to start off the weekend, I reached out for pretty pastels on a casual tone. I have always loved these chalky colours for their softness, femininity and elegance. They make a statement in their subtlety.

The see through floral embroidered deets and the sheer chiffon pleated extender endeared me to this nude layered dressy top.  It looks cute and delicate. The white colour of my trouser lets the top play out. And this PVC candy tote - just does it for this look. You just wanna munch it. I Love it so much and don't act surprised if it pops up on my pics too many times. Will try and practise restraint. That having been said...enjoy the pics.

Have a fun filled weekend. Fill it with beautiful memories.

WHAT I WORE : SWEET SPARKLING SEQUINS

I guess the season for beauty pageants is here. There are just enough of them going on at the moment. There's Miss Tourism Kenya, Miss World Kenya, Miss Earth Kenya running...all running concurrently. I had a chance to attend the Nairobi County Finals for Miss Corporate World Kenya Beauty Pageant 2014 on Friday, held at Weston Hotel.

I did not get a chance to take photos just me by myself as I was all over the place. I was part of the styling / dressing team hence it was just busy backstage getting the contestants ready for each category.

I wanted a simple yet glamorous look that would perfectly suit an evening cocktail party. So I settled for this grey long sleeved sequinned dress. It is very chic and simple with its fair dose of glam. Sequins are perfect for night time too. Since I was going to stay busy backstage and for the better part of the night , I chose to pair up the dress with my pair of black low heeled ankle boots. I also kept the accessories very minimal as the dress is already out there. In fact I only did the earrings. Below are a few pics from the event, of what I wore and also how the event went on for your viewing.

TWO SHADES: BLACK AND WHITE

Happy Thursday everyone,

Well, I still can't believe that its Thursday and that the weekend is here already. This week has gone really fast. We are all looking forward to the 3 day weekend and the best part of it all is that there would be no Monday Blues as the holiday fell right on 'Monday'.

Take some time to go through some of  my 'Black and White' faves as you get on with the rest of the day.

COOLLY CASUAL

Hey buddy,

How's your weekend coming along? Mine is very slow. I kinda feel fatigued. I had a loooong and tiresome evening. Becksville Trends was amongst the wardrobe providers for Miss Corporate World Kenya that went down yesterday evening at Weston Hotel. Our better part of the day was therefore spent putting together ensembles for the hosts and the contestants and we stayed backstage through out the event assisting the contestants to get dressed. It was fun and exciting (I am not complaining) and I will share some more info about the event on a later post.

I really really wish I could be able to post more often. Am trying to organise myself just to make this happen. My weekdays are usually very busy. Am actually glad that I could be able to spare some time to come round here today!

Now, onto what am wearing today. Its a Cotton Jersey Pencil Skirt that I paired up with a Cotton Jersey Hoodie W/ Oblique Assymetrical Zippers, a bright Neon Orange Vest Top and a pair of High Tops. I opted for this look because its coolly casual, sporty hence just perfect for a laid back weekend, like the one am having today - just bumming in the office. The pop of Neon Orange brightens up the entire ensemble as grey is very subdued. Let me also point out that the top and skirt are separates and not a suit. Its just the colour that matches.

CREAM & BLACK

Hi Lovelies,

Hope you'all had a fab weekend. Mine was partly busy, partly restful. I worked until Saturday so I decided to just stick in on Sunday. Here is what I wore on Friday. Yes. Friday and Not Saturday or Sunday.

I wasn't at all prepared for this "mini shoot". I was getting back from meeting a client in the evening when I bumped into a friend along the corridor and she bombarded me with photos. She is very happy for me on receiving news that I have started a blog and was insistent that she is gonna start me off. I went with the flow and struck a few poses.  I was wearing a cream and black print pencil skirt with side ruching detailing that I paired up with a cream twinset sheer chiffon on knit long sleeved patched top and black and gold dog chain and black strappy heels.

The Magic of Beginning

'And Suddenly you just know...its the time to start something new and trust the magic of beginning'- Meisler Eckhart
Receive my warmest welcome
Hey buddy, its a new month ; just the perfect time to start something new. I have been waiting for days on end for the perfect time to do this, It is something that I have meaning to do for quite some time; but I kept buying time as I try to come up with ways on how to execute it perfectly. I slowly begun to warm up to the fact that there will never come a perfect time and that there's no perfect way to do it. Yeeaaahhh, perfection is something that we all are soooooo far away from. I probably took too long to figure out or maybe I was just in denial.

So I decided to turn today and more so this very moment into the perfect moment and 'just do it' my way and just give it my very best.

Am very excited to embark on this journey. Happy to be living my dream with every passing day. I am hoping that somewhere along the way I will find myself in Paris...another one of my dreams.Well at this point, I come across as a dreamer already - but hey - a girl can dream. I challenge you to try something new today.

Thank you for joining me. Now the journey begins. Hope you enjoy. Let's dream on, lets keep trying out new stuff and see how it goes - excited :)

Have a beautiful weekend. Chat soon.
